Framework Model

PEOP Model
The Person-Environment-Occupation-Performance (PEOP) model is a client-centered systems model emphasizing occupational performance as the interaction among a person, their environment, and the activity or task.
Person: Involves physiological, psychological, motor, sensory, cognitive, or spiritual characteristics.
Environment: Includes cultural, social, physical, and natural aspects, along with assistive technology, policies, and social determinants.
Activity/Task: Refers to the characteristics of the occupation being performed.
Occupational performance arises through reciprocal interactions between the individual and their environment. Goals and actions impact both personal characteristics and environmental features, influencing participation and well-being. A supportive person-environment fit fosters successful performance.
The model is collaborative, requiring the client to set goals and co-develop intervention plans with practitioners, who analyse performance enablers and barriers to create a tailored approach for achieving well-being.
